Job Summary
The Customer Service Specialist has a range of responsibilities within the office. This position will work to provide quality service to customers. Customer Service is an integral part of the business and needs to portray the professional image of Northside Elevator, Inc. Answering phones, directing calls, taking messages and orders are an essential part of the job. Communication with customers, sales staff and mill staff is imperative to ensure correct orders are placed and invoiced. The Customer Service Specialist will strive to build a solid working relationship with customers and to service them the best of their ability. The Customer Service Specialist is responsible for compliance with all company policies, local, state, and federal policies, laws and regulations.
Key Responsibilities
· Answers the phone and waits on walk in customers
· Serve customers by providing product and service information
· Feed order, fertilizer order, and chemical order intake and invoicing
· Maintain customer records by updating account information
· Understanding of grain and other feed products
· Test grain on incoming and outgoing trucks
· Operate truck scale
· Ability to maintain confidential customer account information
· Provide timely feedback regarding service failures and customer concerns
· Represent Northside Elevator in a professional and positive manner
· Maintain the keep fill accounts
· Run inventory blends
· Process accounts receivable payments
· Process accounts receivable end of day
· Process credit applications
· Maintain pricing and contract updates
· Handle direct load set up
· Report on present product purchasing and contracts for customers
· Advanced knowledge in pricing and billing
· Enter new contracts
Additional Duties
· Perform other duties as assigned
· Miscellaneous filing and organization
Job Qualifications
· High School degree or equivalent
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Agriculture field, or Associate’s degree in Accounting or Agriculture field and 2 years relevant Customer Service experience, or 5 years relevant Customer Service experience
· Advanced knowledge of accounting
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Attention to detail and billing accuracy
· Proficient in Microsoft suite applications
· Completion of WABA Grain Grading School
