· AGE-Applicant must be 23 years of age or older with three years of tractor trailer experience or 25 years old with at least two years of experience.
· EXPERIENCE-If older than 25 years old, must have at least two years tractor trailer driving experience. If 23-24 years old, must have at least three years of tractor trailer driving experience.
· CERTIFICATIONS-Applicants must have a valid Class A CDL with tank vehicle and hazardous materials & doubles/triples endorsements (chaining experience a plus). A TWIC card must be applied for within the first 30 days if required in a particular market.
· DUI/DWI-NO DUI/DWI within the last seven years or in a commercial vehicle.
· DRUG/SUBSTANCE ABUSE-No use of illegal drugs, positive or refused tests in the last seven years.
· MOVING VIOLATIONS-Applicants must have no more than three moving violations in the last three years. No serious traffic violations* in the last two years. No citations/violations for Driving While Suspended, Disqualified, or Expired in the last six months. *Serious traffic violations per 49 CFR 383.51.
· ACCIDENTS-There must be no more than two at fault accidents in the last three years. Any serious accidents must be reviewed by Safety Department.
· EMPLOYMENT-Applicant must not have been terminated from last employer for a poor safety record. *No more than seven jobs in the past three years*
· FELONIES-Any felony with Conviction date that falls within the past seven years must be approved by Legal Department/Director
· PHYSICAL/MEDICAL CONDITION-Applicant must be able to pass a DOT physical and obtain a one-or-two-year medical exam certificate.
o If an applicant receives a three-month certificate for having OSA or HPB, the applicant may be hired but must undergo testing and treatment (if necessary) prior to the expiration of the three-month certification. Applicant must be able to perform essential functions of the job: walking, reaching, bending, pushing, pulling and lifting and lowering hoses. Must be flexible enough to get in and out of the vehicle and possess the ability to lift and carry weights of 50-100 lbs.
