Position – Driver Instructor Specialist

Our Instructor Specialists are trained by us to professionally train others for success in the transportation industry. Instructors are the backbone to deliver excellent training for industry. Our staff is trained to have multiple capabilities to train in multiple environments. Key responsibilities are to provide training for all pre-specified curriculum as described. This position is responsible to create comprehensive daily records and reports of each student in each class. Teaches students curriculum with effective knowledge in a timely manner in a professional manner. Coordinates with instructional team, Scheduling Coordinator, and other management as directed to meet or exceed training requirements as required to the clients. It is imperative to assist in completing tasks on-time and on-budget. Collaborates with staff to answer questions concerning paperwork, student concerns, etc.

Responsibilities/Duties/Functions/Tasks

- Must maintain a current and valid CDL Class A License and DOT medical certificate and understanding that they will operate a commercial motor vehicle for training or relocating equipment for the purposes of such. In addition:

- Prepare students to succeed in passing Excel’s training programs.

- Provide instruction to students using hands-on training, simulation, and CBT.

- Assure that a quality curriculum is presented to the students.

- Monitor and promote advancement (or supplemental training) of students.

- Establish and maintain rapport with students.

- Determine appropriate method for assessing training effectiveness for each student.

- Prepare students to acquire CDL license (as applicable)

- Follow curriculum criteria as prescribed in training classes.

- Maintain records on training program attendance, programs offered and utilization levels; provide records on training evaluation survey.

- Provide accurate and complete daily student progress reports and score assignments.

- Collaborate with Managment on all student/class changes and any operational issues.

- At the request of management, assist to support/resolve customer service concerns.

- Provide original receipts for all expenses and documentation to accounting department.

- Deliver specialized classes as designed and prescribed for all classes.

- Perform other duties, as assigned

Work Requirements

Position is safety sensitive and requires sharp comprehension. While some of the instruction may be sedentary and no unusual physical requirements are necessary, it is imperative to be able to remain alert and active to ensure safety and integrity of class is consistent. Position duties may require lift, carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs.).

Candidates must have 5 years minimum commercial vehicle experience and should have experience in training and instruction. Ability to pass a background check, drug screen, and verify employment is necessary. Ability to be a professional and positive, problem-solver that desires quality in their work.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $67,000.00 per year
