Summary of Job Description:
In accordance with the established policies and procedures as set by Lake Shore Savings Bank, the Baking Operations Manager will manage all aspects of the back-office operations. This will include management for Deposit Products, Loan Origination, Loan Servicing, Online Banking, ACH, Wire, Check, Deposit, Zelle, Card, ATM, Merchant and any emerging payment methods. Disputes, Fraud Detection, Reclamations, Treasury Management Products and emerging services will be managed in this role. The Banking Operations Manager is responsible for managing a team who will execute day to day transaction processing in a controlled, compliant and quality environment.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Manage day to day operational processing for the bank
  • Actively manage the development and implementation of policies and procedures dealing with Bank operation, financial performance, profitability and growth
  • Analyze statistical performance information through developing and generating statistical performance reports. Identify protenial weaknesses, strengths, opportunities and threats
  • Work actively with Compliance, Audit and Regulators and manage results
  • Update, maintain and test procedures to ensure adherence and proper execution
  • Conduct periodic performance appraisals and manage performance of team members. This includes hiring, performance management and development
  • Optimize processes to increase efficiency and overall financial results.
  • Identify risks and controls and report/manage as necessary
  • Plan, manage and report on operational expenses with the goal of reducing efficiency ratio
  • Handle escalated issues as they arise
  • Handle special assignments as they arise
  • Support bank wide initiates and collaborate with peers to grow success

Required Skills*
Skills and Abilities Required: *

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of prior financial institution Operations Management experience focused on payment methods, day to day operational processing, risk and controls.
  • Extensive knowledge of payment methods and banking products
  • Strong interpersonal, communication (written and verbal), and organizational skills with the ability to work independently, as well as, collaboratively within a team environment.
  • Ability to interact effectively with all levels of management, legal counsel, law enforcement, regulators and examiners while maintaining strict confidentiality.
  • Proven leadership and people management skills
  • Proven results in engaging a team for success
  • Proven experience in process improvement and operational optimization
  • Strong decision making, analytical and investigative abilities with attention to detail and accuracy

  • Must have demonstrated experience in leading teams through change
  • Must maintain knowledge of and ensure compliance with banking regulations
  • Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner so that a positive working relationship with customers, coworkers and managers exist.
  • Must interact professionally with other employees, board members, customers and external vendors.
  • Must be in accordance with the Lake Shore Savings Bank Code of Conduct Policy
