POSITION OVERVIEW:

The Accounting Manager is responsible for performing a variety of accounting responsibilities to support the financial functions of the company. This position will ensure accurate, timely and valuable financial information is available to operate the business. This position requires a strong, flexible leader who is results oriented and has strong accounting and analytical skills. This position will lead and manage the accounting team and report to the Vice President & CFO.

RESPONSIBILITES:

· Completes the month end closing process in an efficient and accurate manner to meet monthly, quarterly, and annual deadlines

· Delivers monthly financial statements and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts that meets the company’s internal financial reporting requirements

· Provides financial analysis and explanation of the financial and operating results with underlying root cause of variances

· Manages inventory, job costing analysis, standard cost rate calculation and review, cost absorptions, and cost and profitability reviews as assigned

· Oversees the fixed asset accounting and reporting for accuracy. Monitor and assist with compliance to fixed asset audits per the company fixed asset policy

· Directs the cash management operations including daily cash administration and management of Mate’s bank accounts, including maintaining effective relationships with banks to ensure effective treasury management tools are in place at the lowest possible cost

· Manages the activities of the AR, AP, and Staff Accounting positions.

· Provides leadership, professional development and coaching to the accounting staff (4 direct reports)

· Partners with other functional areas (Sales, Engineering, Supply Chain, Human Resources) to understand costs, variances, and other operating measures and results

· Assess current accounting policies, procedures, and business systems; offer recommendations for improvements, and implements to meet accounting standards and controls

· Manages internal and external financial audit processes to completion

· Reviews payroll reconciliations and tax filings; including state sales and use tax filings

· Supports the generation of the annual budget and planning process to ensure long term financial and business strategy

· Completes all other work duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting with 7 years progressive experience, with 2+ years within a manufacturing environment

· Professional accreditation such as CPA or CMA preferred but not required

· Demonstrate a high degree of organizational skills and attention to details in solving problems and offering resolutions

· Proficient knowledge in MS Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook)

· Strong experience in ERP systems in a manufacturing environment

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· Leadership characteristics of self-motivation, confidence, intelligence, team-oriented attitude, and high level of energy

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
