Utility Management Services, Inc. (UMS) is seeking an entrepreneurial-minded, self-motivated, B2B sales hunter in Athens, GA—to make a meaningful and rewarding impact on customers.

As an industry leader, UMS provides a beneficial utility bill audit and analysis service to identify savings and reduce costs for commercial, industrial, and governmental entities of all sizes.

The Account Manager (AM) role is an Independent Contractor position—offering a remote-work arrangement and the ability to set your own schedule. The 100% commission-based compensation structure, provides uncapped and significant earning potential for the individual.

Earning Potential

Our highest earner made $285,000+ in one year, working very part time.

Last year, we had someone earn $205,000 from UMS, while also earning money selling the services of other firms to the same customers he was selling to for UMS.

In the last 12 months, we have someone who has earned $202,000.

We have an experienced full-time teacher in a public school system who sells for UMS in the summer and in his spare time. He is earning more from UMS than he earns as a teacher.

These results were achieved by people working from home, setting their own schedule, and working as many or few hours as they wanted.

We also have people who earn little or nothing. These tend to be people who planned to do this as a side gig and didn’t end up investing the time and energy needed to succeed.

Primary Responsibilities

The Account Manager (AM) is responsible for targeting, cold calling, creating relationships, delivering sales pitches and solidifying deals with prospective customers through his/her own engagement and sales methods.

Once the AM closes the sale, UMS’ internal analytical team will take all the necessary steps to audit and analyze the customer’s historical billing, provide a detailed report of the results, and implement any savings opportunities with the utility provider on the customer’s behalf.

The AM will receive marketing materials, training and continuous support from the assigned Regional Sales Manager, UMS corporate office staff and other E-learning resources.

Training and Support Provided

Receive extensive training and support from your Regional Sales Manager and others at UMS. Many training videos have been created that teach you about our services, how to target, how to close, etc. Many mock sales call videos have been created that demonstrate how to make a sales call.

At no cost to the AM, UMS will provide a license to our CRM.

If an AM would like to provide a lead list, UMS can send a direct email campaign on the Account Manager's behalf. This can drive some inbound business directly to the AM and will make the leads warmer when a cold call is placed.

For interested AMs, UMS pays 50% of the cost of qualified association memberships, trade show booth registration fees and LinkedIn advertising campaigns. UMS also provides the materials to use at trade shows and often the Regional Sales Manager can help work the trade show.

We are seeking someone with:

  • Excellent presentation, strong communication and customer service skills
  • Ability and willingness to travel to prospective customer sites
  • Valid driver’s license and vehicle with proof of insurance
